Joan Snook, 85

Joan Snook, 85, of Searsboro passed away Tues-day, July 18, 2017, at her home. As per her wishes, her body has been cremated, and a private family me-morial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the West Liberty Cemetery at rural Searsboro. Memorial contributions in Joan's name may be sent to the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma at 201 West Main Street.

Martha Joan Snook was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Grinnell, the daughter of Clifford Leroy and Mary Edith Schooley Watson. She graduated from Searsboro High School in 1950. Joan was united in marriage to Floyd Snook on Aug. 18, 1951, in Searsboro. Joan and Floyd were the parents of seven children: David, Bruce, Gary, Richard, Mark, Kevin, and Carol. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker and loved raising their seven children. Joan was a member of the Searsboro Community Church and was a devoted church member and a very private person. She enjoyed the many visits from her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd, and her brother Richard Watson.

She is survived by her children: David of Youngstown, FL, Bruce of Calloway, FL, Gary (Vanessa) of Surprise, AZ, Richard (Sheryl) of Camp Point, IL, Mark of Des Moines, Kevin (Teresa) of Geneseo, IL, and Carol (Scott) Westercamp of Ankeny; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her brothers, James Charles (Margaret) Watson of Oskaloosa and Robert (Ethel) Watson of Arizona; her sisters, Marilyn Schuler of Grinnell, Maxine Nylor of Oskaloosa, and Addie Mae Criswell of Lincoln, NE.
