Timothy Wayne Van Sant was born Jan. 6, 1963, at Grinnell. He was the youngest of two sons born to Willis and Berdine (Slings) Van Sant. Tim received his elementary education at Sully Christian School and graduated from Pella Christian High School in 1981. Tim lived most of his life in Sully.
Tim worked for Precision Pulley and Idler (PPI) of Pella, Marion County Auto Body of Knoxville, and Sully Transport. Over the years, Tim enjoyed spending time with family, reading, watching the birds and wildlife in his backyard, NASCAR and sprint car racing, tending to his fish aquariums, and NFL football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tim passed away on Wednesday, Mar. 19, 2025, at his home in Sully at the age of 62.
Those left to cherish his memory are his brother Steven W. Van Sant of Sully; his nephews Brett A. (Megan) Van Sant of North Platte, NE, Bradley A. (Ally) Van Sant of Des Moines, and Brayden A. (Mindy) Van Sant of Huxley; his niece Breighann A. (Jesse) Van Baale of Sully; and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Willis Van Sant in 2000, his mother Berdine Slings Van Sant in 2006, and his nephew Brandon A. Van Sant in 2002.
