Ted Fisk, 98

Ted Fisk, 98, of New Sharon, passed away Monday morning, Nov. 26, 2018, at the North Mahaska Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Oskaloosa. Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 30, at Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon. Burial was in the Friends Cemetery in New Sharon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Sharon Fire and Rescue.

Theodore Daniel Fisk, the son of Daniel and Lulu (Grubb) Fisk, was born Apr. 22, 1920, in New Sharon. He attended New Sharon High School. Dec. 30, 1939, Ted was united in marriage to Pauline Dimit at the Methodist parsonage in Bloomfield. To this union two children were born, Elvin and Shirley. They farmed southwest of New Sharon for four years before establishing their farm at rural Searsboro where they lived for 34 years. In 1978, they moved into New Sharon. Ted loved shooting pool, watching PBR Rodeo, and watching the Little League World Series and College Softball World Series. Family was very important to Ted. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, giving each of them their own nickname. Ted loved visiting and sharing his stories. He was a member of the IOOF Odd Fellows in New Sharon.

His legacy will be honored by his children: Elvin (Caroline) Fisk of New Sharon and Shirley Albaugh of New Sharon; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Jody Conger; two brothers, Harvey Fisk and Alfred Fisk; a sister, Laura Miller; and two sons-in-law, Bob Ver Steegh and Jim Albaugh.
