Services for Marvin DeGoey, 90, of Pleasantville, who passed away Friday, July 12, 2019, in Des Moines, were held Wednesday, July 17, at Indianola First Baptist Church. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Indianola.
He is survived by his wife, Junella; children, Karla (Darrell) Labertew and Lyle (Reeca) DeGoey; grandchildren, Ryan (Christie) Labertew, Holly DeGoey, Ashten (Rob) Hayes, Chauncee (Jimmy) Hyde, Kristine Labertew; great-grandchildren, Faith and Noah Labertew, Jantz Hyde, Payton Houseman; siblings, Carl (Joyce) DeGoey, Ryk (Jan) DeGoey, Joi (Lou) Van Der Hart; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Caroline DeGoey; siblings, Deretha Sneller, Thelma Boertje, Cornelius DeGoey Jr., and Willus DeGoey.
Memorials can be made in Marvin’s name to St. Jude’s Hospital and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. The family would like to express their appreciation to all of their friends and family for their thoughts and prayers during this time.
