Margaret “Peggy” Jean Maston, 87, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at Newton Village in Newton. Peggy’s graveside service was at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Newton Union Cemetery conducted by Pastor Jeff Keady of Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton.
Peggy, the daughter of Loyal and Claire Gunn Johnson, was born June 26, 1932, in Denison. She graduated from Colfax High School.
Apr. 19, 1952, Peggy was united in marriage with Charles Maston in Unionville, MO. They were blessed with three sons: Chuck, Michael, and Don. Peggy was a production worker at Thombert Inc. in Newton, retiring in 1989. She and Charles enjoyed traveling in their Airstream before settling down in Weslaco, TX.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles, Sr.; two sons, Teddy in infancy and Michael; sister, Claire Patterson; and brother, Sonny Johnson.
Those left to cherish Peggy’s memory are her two sons: Chuck (Rita) Maston of Killduff and Don (Diana) Maston of Solon; several grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
