June Kramer, 88

June (Van Wyk) Kramer, 88, of Pella, passed away early Monday morning, July 1, 2019, at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Second Christian Reformed Church in Pella. Interment followed in Oakwood Cemetery, Pella. Memorial contributions are suggested for Pella Christian High School.

Bertha June Van Wyk was born Sept. 18, 1930, near Sully. She was the third of 11 children born to Cornelius and Artie (Van Maanen) Van Wyk. June, as she preferred to be known, attended the Fleming and Andreas Country Schools. She made profession of her faith at Sully Christian Reformed Church and was a current member of the Second Christian Reformed Church in Pella, where she had served as a Calvinette counselor.

June was an active worker during her lifetime. She served as a waitress at Garden Square Café and then worked at the Rolscreen Company in Pella. With the passing of her father at an early age, June often returned home to help with the work and care of her siblings still at home. June met Ronald Carl Kramer when she brought her car to be serviced at the shop where he worked. They were united in marriage Jan. 4, 1963, at the parsonage of Sully Christian Reformed Church. To this union one son, Rustin Jay, was born in November 1963. For almost 50 years, she was involved in her husband’s business, Ron’s Yamaha, as the bookkeeper. June and Ron were privileged to take several trips together to Yamaha conventions. She read the paper regularly, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and in later life, volunteered at Work of Our Hands.

Family was very important to June as she and her sisters shared many coffee times and trips together, and she was very proud of and loved to spend time with her three grandchildren.

June’s thought processes began to be challenged, and she moved to Vriendschap Village in July 2015. After suffering a fall, she passed away July 1 at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House.

June is survived by her husband, Ronald Kramer, a resident at Homestead of Oskaloosa; their son, Rusty (Rhinda) Kramer and their three children: Tyler Jay, Tanner David, and Megan Noelle of Pella. June leaves her brother, Arvin (Anna Mae) Van Wyk of Pella; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Joyce (Carl) De Goey, Darlene (Harris) Vos, all of Newton, Helen (Verlan) Brand of Grinnell, Carolyn Vande Voort, Judy (Ed) Van Kooten, all of Sully; and the following brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Eldred Van Gorp of Newton, Marian (Kramer) and Dan Ten Pas of Oostburg, WI, Martin and Lola Kramer, and Gerald and Carolyn Kramer of Pella.

June was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Harvey Gene who died in infancy; her two older sisters, Gertrude and her husband, Raymond Wehrle, and Grace Van Gorp; her brother, Walter Van Wyk and his wife, Harriet, her brother-in-law, Larry Vande Voort, and a sister-in-law, Ruth (Kramer) and her husband, Pete Rus.
