David E. Schnell, 81, of Sully died on Monday, Mar. 11, 2019, at Accura Healthcare of Newton East in Newton surrounded by the love of his family. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 16, at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, west of Sully, conducted by Pastor Kari Lee and Pastor Kenneth Ahntholz. The family will greet friends immediately following the memorial service with a lunch at the church.
A private family burial will be held at a later date at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in rural Sully.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the donor’s choice. Memorials may be left at the church on the morning of the service or at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. If you are mailing the memorial to the funeral home, please add, Attn.: Schnell Family on the envelope.
Those left to honor David’s memory are his wife of 55 years, Andrea; son, Kert J. (Kimberly) Schnell of Newton; daughters, Kendra J. (Mark) Hay of Lynnville and Marsha L. (Josh) Cooper of Pella; his five grandchildren, Marshall (Kim) Hay, Madison (Trisha) Hay, Noah, Elyse, and Lily Cooper; his great-granddaughter, Paisley Hay; and his brothers, Richard (Linda) Schnell of Sully and Ronald Schnell of Pella.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
