Barbara Joan (Schroeder) Frye, 72

Barbara Joan (Schroeder) Frye, 72, of Lincoln, NE, passed away, June 3, 2017, from Idio-pathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. A memorial service was held at St. Mark's Methodist Chapel, Lincoln, NE, on Tuesday, June 6. Barbara requested memorial contributions be directed to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, IL, 60611. Barbara was born Dec. 10, 1944, in Huron, SD, to George and Eunice (Miller) Schroeder. She grew up on a farm in the Huron area, attended a rural elementary school, and graduated from Huron High School in 1962. After graduation, she was employed in the insurance industry including agencies and companies in Huron, SD; Omaha, NE; Des Moines, IA; and Lincoln, NE. She married George H. Frye Jr. on Sept. 20, 1964, at the Methodist Church in Huron, SD. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Barbara was highly involved in the activities of her four daughters, including Sunday School, PTA, Girl Scouts, softball, basketball, volleyball, track, and soccer. Following retirement, she enjoyed playing cards and board games, travelling, hosting and attending gatherings of family members and friends, participating in PEO and RAK activities, and attending luncheons with her many friends. She will long be remembered as a person who loved life, lived it to the fullest, and cherished her relationship with her husband, children, their spouses, grandchildren, and numerous friends. She is survived by her husband, George; four daughters: Michelle (Mark) Aldenifer, Christine (Jerry) Morningstar, Stacey (James) Waters, and Marci (Darrell) Jones; 12 grandchildren: Bryan, Lauren, Madison, James, and Bella-Grace Aldenifer; Rebecca, Jacob, Joshua, Zachary, and Luke Morningstar; Nathan and Erica Waters; two brothers: Leonard (Marion) Schroeder and Marvin (Natalie) Schroeder; two sisters: Phyllis (Norman) Walters and Garnett (Garland) Woldt; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, their spouses and children. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and her grandparents.
